Ontario invests in 4 local Seniors Community Grants
BROCKVILLE – Ontario is investing $51,264.40 in four local projects that will enrich the lives of Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes seniors and recognize their significant contributions to our province.
The Seniors Community Grant program focuses on projects that align with four pillars which help improve the lives of older adults in the province:
- Enabling Aging-at-Home and in Communities
- Safety and Security
- Remaining Healthy, Active and Socially Engaged
- Participating in the Labour Market and Economy
This year’s local recipients include:
- Beth Donovan Hospice in Kemptville
- Gananoque Public Library Board
- The Township of Leeds and The Thousand Islands
- Walker House Adult Centre in Prescott
“These local projects might seem small but they have a very significant impact for Seniors and for the community,” said Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. “They offer meaningful opportunities for older adults to safely take part in local life and keep connected to friends, family and the community.”
“Our government is proud to invest in local organizations which are well-positioned to meet the needs of seniors in their community,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Seniors Community Grants provide tremendous enjoyment and personal value to older Ontarians.”
